I want to come out (well I did THAT a while back) and say that Bali is totally open, loving and accepting of all walks of life – including LGBTQ+ couples. Yay!
My wife (I LOVE saying “wife”!) and I are always super aware when we travel abroad because cultures all over the world are different and we respect that.
Bali is primarily Hindu unlike the rest of Indonesia. The Hindu religion is beautiful – as are its people.
All of the Balinese people we met were so kind and loving – my heart immediately knew we were safe.
On our honeymoon in Bali, we held hands, stole a smooch here and there, but we aren’t the type of couple to cause a scene in the pool… that’s what the private villa pool was for 😉
Now onto the main attraction…
8 Sexy Adventures in Bali
1. Nusa Dua
- I’m telling you – there is something extra sexy about Nusa Dua. The vibe in Nusa Dua is all about passion and indulgence.
- Of course, it was the first 8 days of our honeymoon so perhaps that had a thing or two to do with it… but I’m SERIOUS. The air was electric!
2. St Regis – Bali – Nusa Dua (affiliate program vai Mariott)
- If you’re in a relationship, like your privacy, but also like having an incredible beach, the largest saltwater lagoon in the world connecting to your villa, the sexiest pools and lounge areas you could ever imagine, a chocolatier, pastry chef, fine dining, casual cuisine and of course plenty of shopping… then stay at St Regis Bali.
- We read before we went that Nusa Dua is great for families but I literally don’t recall seeing one kid at St Regis Bali. It was perfect for us.
- If you’re looking for a more edgy-party vibe go to the West side of Bali near the Bvlgari Resort. We opted for more romance and indulgence.
3. Nusa Dua Beach Grill
- They make amazing smoothies and you can rent surfboards to hit up the Indian Ocean.
- Such a chill vibe open-air spot with friendly people – we met folks from Australia, Singapore, Russia, China, and the US.
- The beach is super chill – and somewhat private. 😉
3. Boneka
- Boneka is Baliense for marionette and was one of my favorite spots.
- The life-sized marionettes were hanging decoratively throughout the space that was windows all around and overlooking the lush landscape of St Regis- Boneka is positioned as if you were floating on the tops of the most beautiful smelling trees in the world.
- We had breakfast here every day as the variety was endless – filled with decadent cuisine from Bali, Japan, Thailand, and Western fare.
- The pastry chef was out of this world and, my, did they pair well with the most delicious mocha lattes I’ve ever had! Paradise!
- I’m a total foodie – there’s something so sexy about sharing and exploring delicious new tastes, exotic spices, and dreamy deserts.
4. Nusa Dua Temple
- This picturesque temple is at the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean and it doesn’t get much press. I like the hidden gems of the world and this is one.
- A lazy walk from Nusa Dua Beach Grill and you’re at the temple, or you can walk down to the beach and see the temple from the other side of the cliff.
- Great place to sneak a smooch or two… also great selfie spot! (see below)
5. Sunrise over the Indian Ocean
- How many times do you get to see this? We got up super early and it was so worth it.
- The colors over the Indian Ocean were incredible and the water looked like glass. You can’t tell where the sky ends and the water begins – it all looks like a dreamy spot in one of my vision meditations.
- Grab a couple of lattes and a picnic breakfast – So Romantic!
6. Fresh Coconut on Nusa Dua Beach
- One of my favorite things to do in Nusa Dua is to lounge on the beach and look over at my sexy wife. 😉
- The lazy ocean waves lap up on the shore while the huge waves crash way out on the coral. Do yourself a favor and order a fresh chilled coconut while you bask in the sun and share it with your partner.
- Does it get much better than that?
7. Day Trip: Nusa Penida
- Ok, so we took this trip and while I enjoyed exploring Nusa Penida, there were some things I wish I would have been warned about prior to going on this excursion.
- First, you will take a boat out to an island that has no infrastructure.
- Then, you will be in a car with other people on some seriously busted roads that are the size of one large lane but shared for both lanes. The roads are along cliffs and after a while – you just want to go back to the comfort of your own villa’s pool.
- The scenery is beautiful, the guides were so nice, but then the boat ride back was super intense because of the size of the waves.
- Nothing like some dramatic adventure to bring you closer to your partner! It was SO worth it. 😉
- The bubble bath back in the villa at the St Regis was icing on the cake.
8. Lounge in a Cabana
- Make sure you have access to a Cabana – either on resort or in your Airbnb – and if you don’t have one find one!
- This was one of our favorite things… lounge in the morning over coffee, in the afternoon for lunch, and if you’re lucky you’ll have sheers to let down in the evening for some privacy 😉
- Perfect for reading or if you’ve gotten a little too much sun!
